A charming original color illustration by Marcellus Hall depicting vintage furniture shopping in Lower Manhattan. The New Yorker published this piece in its October 22, 2001 issue alongside its On and Off the Avenue section, featuring shopping opportunities in Lower Manhattan in the aftermath of 9/11.

Ink, watercolor, and gouache on 11” x 4.5” Arches 140 lb. cold-pressed watercolor paper. The foot of the paper contains handwritten notes referencing the date of Marcellus’s creation of the piece. The reverse side contains the date of publication and Marcellus’s signature. Excellent condition.
