John Carpenter
Original color illustration by Marcellus Hall of the legendary horror filmmaker John Carpenter. The New Yorker published this piece in its February 13, 1995 issue in conjunction with a review of Carpenter’s film In the Mouth of Madness.
Ink, watercolor, colored pencil, and gouache on 8” x 9.5” Strathmore 400 series drawing paper. The artist’s abbreviated signature appears in the lower margin. The reverse side contains assorted production notes, including the dates of creation and publication of the piece, Marcellus’s return address, and a New Yorker copyright sticker. Excellent condition.
