Original color illustration by Marcellus Hall of Jet Li in the film Romeo Must Die. The New Yorker published this piece in its March 27, 2000 issue to highlight the opening of the film.

Ink, watercolor, and gouache on 6.75” x 9” Arches 140 lb. cold-pressed watercolor paper. The artist’s initials appear in the lower right corner of the image. The reverse side contains various publication markings, as well as the dates of creation and publication of the piece, and Marcellus’s stamped signature and return address. A protective tissue cover sheet is taped to the reverse side which folds over the front of the image. Excellent condition.
