Hawaiian Night
Original color illustration by Marcellus Hall. This piece was published in The New Yorker’s July 16, 2001 issue to highlight the seasonal conversion by the East Village restaurant and lounge Marion’s into a Polynesian-themed “Kahiki Lounge.”
Ink, watercolor, and colored pencil on 13” x 8.25” Arches 140 lb. cold-pressed watercolor paper. The artist’s initials appear in the lower right corner of the image and his full signature appears in the lower margin. The reverse side contains the dates of creation and publication of the piece, and the artist’s return address. Excellent condition.
