Original color illustration by Marcellus Hall published in The New Yorker’s September 27, 1999 issue to highlight the final matches of the annual Guinness/Red Stripe Cricket Tournament in Canarsie Park in Brooklyn on September 25th of that year.

Created with litho crayon, watercolor paint, and gouache on 16.25” x 14” Strathmore 400 series drawing paper. The artist’s signature appears in the lower right corner of the image.

The reverse side references the date of creation, the date of publication, and contains Marcellus’s signature stamp and return address. The paper contains minor creases and rippling from the watercolor paint application, with prominent saturation through the rear of the image. There are small staple holes in the top corners of the piece which do not interfere with the overall image. Very good condition.
