Original color illustration by Marcellus Hall, published in the “Goings on About Town” section of The New Yorker’s September 21, 1998 issue, to feature Colin Quinn’s one-man show “An Irish Wake” at the Helen Hayes Theater that week.

Ink, watercolor, and colored pencil on 7” x 10.25” Bristol board. The artist’s initials appear in the lower right margin of the image. The reverse side contains a rough pencil sketch of the same image, references to the creation date and publication date of the illustration, and Marcellus’s signature stamp and return address. A protective tissue cover sheet is taped to the reverse side which folds over the front of the image. Excellent condition.
